This is our monthly storytime for ages 3-5. The half hour program includes sharing picture books, crafts, active participation and lots of fun. Parent or guardian must stay with children.

Thanksgiving Hours

FB_IMG_1511214159595Happy Thanksgiving from the staff at the Coalfield Public Library! We will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday beginning November 23rd through November 26th.

This weeks hours are:
🍁Monday 10:30 – 4:00 pm
🍁Tuesday 10:30 – 4:00 pm
🍁Wednesday 8:30 – 2:00 pm

Please use the book drop located at the front of the library to return books, DVDS, etc. while we are closed. You can also renew your books, DVDs, etc. online by emailing coalfieldlibrary@yahoo.com or by calling the library during our business hours at 865-435-4275 and a staff member will be glad to help you.

Pushing the Limits of TRANSFORMATION book club.

“Transformation” is a universal experience – the child becomes the adult, we meet people and they change our lives and sometimes we change theirs. We work, which for some of us is purposeful transformation of materials or words. What is the process of ‘transformation”? ‍‍‍

It is NOT required reading to attend, but this book is fascinating! Free copies of the book is limited to the first 9 people registered. More copies of the books are available for check out. The ebook and audiobook versions are available at https://reads.overdrive.com/. All programs will be held at Coalfield Public Library. Pushing the Limits is partly a viewing, reading and discussion program series for adults to explore everyday science. This series brings together books and video featuring everyday people who are pushing their own limits every day.

Christmas LEGO Club 11/27

Our final LEGO Club for 2017 is Monday, November 27 at 3:00pm – 4:00pmCome along and have some fun building and creating with Lego. During this session there will be a special Christmas-themed challenge, so don’t miss it! Then we’re giving our LEGO elves a break for Christmas. LEGO Club will return in 2018!

Youth of all ages are invited to build LEGO masterpieces. All LEGOs are provided by the library. At the end of the Club, creations will be put on display in the library. DUPLO blocks will be available for our youngest patrons. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
